The August Zhush! Journal
+ updates on the summer playlist
And just like that, it’s August in the year of our Lord 2026?!
Putting together these little PDF journals is really fun for me because every month I tune in and ask God/Creator/Angels what question(s) would be most helpful for people. This month’s first one?
What am I pretending to not know?
I love this question because I think that as humans with a lot coming at us constantly, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed, confused, etc., and then consequently say “ugh, I just don’t know!” By the way, I hit this point regularly, so no shame.
And, really, I believe that we always know. Sometimes it just feels like the signal is unclear or has some radio static attached due to a litany of reasons, which may or may not include: Interference from other people in your life (their opinions or beliefs or personal limitations that you are picking up on), cultural or societal or political or economical bullshit that exists in the soup we all live in, your own energetic hygiene which can often lead to saying yes too much or just not saying no enough, your own subconscious beliefs, AND MORE.
This is a regular normal state of being. There’s nothing wrong with it. It’s actually great information that you need to take a beat and journal!
Try this: Put everything on ‘do not disturb.’ Sit in a space you enjoy. Set an intention to be true, however that looks to you. For me, it usually looks like closing my eyes for a few seconds to a minute and reconnecting with my Source in a quiet place. Set a 20 minute timer and journal with yourself. You may need to first write out all the junk before you can get to the heart of what you know. That’s perfectly fine! Do it!
Then pick up this journal, and write what you know. Save it for later. Your past diary entries make for excellent reading material in a few years.
Summer Watch Update
If you have not yet checked out my list of summer entertainment suggestions, this is your sign! I’ve watched a few, and thought I’d offer a few words.
Now & Then is a treasure trove of 90s nostalgia. I absolutely LOVED the soundtrack and I loved this outfit worn by Samantha’s recently divorced mother, which was shown while Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots Were Made For Walking” played in the background. Yes, there was some weird fat shaming reminiscent of the 1990s, but I feel confident we can all notice that for what it is, and move on.

The Summer I Turned Pretty took me a few episodes to get “into,” but then I needed to know how it ended! Three seasons was the right amount, in my humble opinion. Belly irritated me, but I also saw her through the eyes of my 16-20 year old self, and recognized the confusion, heartbreak, and teenage angst. My favorite scene is in one of the last episodes, where Belly arrives in Paris, naively leaves her backpack at a cafe table while ordering, and turns around to find it stolen. She has an AirTag in it, so opens her phone, and spends the rest of the afternoon tracking her backpack through Paris, taking the metro, buses, etc. She finds herself at a sketchy club later in the evening, and realizes that the backpack is inside the club. The bouncers won’t let her in without the secret password, and as she goes to leave, she sees another woman being harassed by some asshole. She pretends she is the woman’s friend, and helps her. The woman goes to enter the club, knows the password, and calls for Belly to come with her. Belly enters, finds the thief wearing her backpack, and rips it off his back. He tries to throw a scene, so she opens the backpack and pulls out a dress, asking if that belongs to him.
I enjoyed this scene the most because I loved her gumption and I would have done the same thing (lol) tracking my bag, and actually, I did this one time with lost mail which resulted in me ending up at what must have been the unibomber’s apartment. CEST LA VIE.
Mostly though, I always enjoy watching women helping women - in-person and on-screen. We need more examples of that, in my humble opinion.
OKKKK, I will be back with more updates soon.
Let me know how your journaling goes. I’m always thinking of you and how your heart is doing.
Xoxo

this question is right on time for me 🫢
